Trauma Therapy
TRAUMA FOCUSED COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (TF-CBT) TF-CBT is specifically designed to address trauma in children and adolescents. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-focused interventions to help clients process traumatic memories, manage distressing emotions, and develop coping skills.
NARRATIVE THERAPY FOR TRAUMANarrative therapy helps individuals reframe and reconstruct their personal narratives surrounding trauma. It involves exploring and revising the meaning of traumatic events, identifying strengths and resources, and fostering empowerment and resilience through storytelling and narrative reconstruction.
BRAINSPOTTING FOR TRAUMABrainspotting is based on the premise that where we look (or where our eyes focus) can have a direct impact on our brain and emotional processing. Brainspotting involves the therapist guiding the client's attention to specific eye positions, or "brainspots," that are linked to emotional or somatic experiences. These brainspots are identified based on the client's internal experiences, such as physical sensations, emotions, or memories. While focusing on a brainspot, the therapist may use bilateral stimulation techniques such as tapping, auditory cues, or eye movements to facilitate processing and integration of emotions and experiences. This bilateral stimulation is thought to engage both hemispheres of the brain and support the brain's natural healing processes. Brainspotting acknowledges the interconnectedness of the mind and body in processing emotional experiences. It emphasizes the role of the body's sensations and movements in accessing and releasing emotional trauma or stress. While traditional talk therapy relies heavily on verbal communication, brainspotting can be a more non-verbal and experiential approach. Clients may not always need to articulate their experiences verbally; instead, the therapist guides them through somatic experiences and emotional processing using the brainspotting technique.
